ImPact Statement
My name is Paula Collum and I am the mom of Cindy Lee Mauntel.
On January 7, 1982, after 13 hours of labor, my daughter, Cindy was placed in my arms for the first time. She had a head full of blonde hair and she was so beautiful and perfect and I cried tears of joy

On August 25, 2008, my son-in-law came to my house to tell me that my daughter was dead. The tears that came on August 25, 2008 were tears of anguish and unbearable pain.

On August 27, 2008, I held my daughters cold, beat up dead body and I had to tell her goodbye. The pain I felt and still feel is something I can not even begin to describe.
Cindy was my first born child and did not deserve to be taken so cruelly.

My daughter was a loving, sister, mother, wife, daughter, step-mom, niece, cousin, and friend, who was deeply loved by all that she touched.

Her children, 9, 7, 5, and 4 years old will never have there mother to tuck them in at night, be there when they are afraid, help them with homework, and be there when they go to their first school dance or see them graduate. She won’t be able to see them get married and have children of their own.

Jack Edwards, Jr. deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison for the brutal murder of my daughter. Your honor I ask that you give him the maximum sentence allowed for the murder of my daughter Cindy. He deserves to receive nothing less, so he can think about everyday for the rest of his life what he has done.
